The temperature pattern that is developing across the entire upper Northern Hemisphere.  This is described by Robert Fanney, who likes to analyze unusual events before the science community is ready to report in its more conservative way, and can often be commended for his accuracy.  At least, things are happening today that we have never seen before.

A realistic plan for rapid reduction of emissions from power generation in the US.  The goal is to reduce emissions by 78% by the year 2030 using only technology that is now proven and available, without depending on storage, and without any increase in the price of electricity.  It can be accomplished with major additions of wind and solar power while eliminating coal and burning less gas, but to make it work would also require setting up a single nationwide grid system, with federal planning and help.  It’s an idea worth pursuing.

Bioplastics are coming, thanks to DuPont and ADM.  This is very good news for all environmentalists, plus involving a substantial reduction in the energy required for manufacturing.

Are there lots of other planets with life like Earth has?  This group of astrobiologists concludes that microbial life could be common but probably not so the maintenance of suitable climate conditions for the billions of years needed for the evolution of highly developed forms.  We need to appreciate what we have in place?
